Emergency Operations Centers: Preventative Measures

One of the biggest challenges that responders face when they are assigned to a case involving an infectious disease is the fear and panic that tends to run rampant in such a situation. Along with many other hurdles that must be surpassed in such cases, the need to comfort members of an affected community is among the greatest. Emergency Operations Centers are intended to do just that, help educate the public, separate those contaminated from those who are not, and do their best to make the situation as simple as possible for those in the area. Although Emergency Operations Centers can be both physical and virtual, they both serve the same purpose: to assist ailing communities and prevent the spread of disease as well as panic and fear.
